We all celebrate when a healthy infant is discharged from our NICU, but after he or she leaves, some babies require additional care, which is now available through the Outpatient Pediatric Therapy program.
Newborns from birth through 18-years may receive physical, occupational, and speech therapy on an outpatient basis, often with the same therapists who cared for them while they were in The Woman's Hospital of Texas.
All therapists are board certified by the State of Texas and are nationally registered within their scope of practice. These therapists require yearly continuing education to maintain the highest standards of care for treating your child.
Outpatient Pediatric Therapy is also available for children who were not previously cared for at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.
Therapy can assist with the following conditions:
- Premature birth
- Congenital anomalies
- Down Syndrome
- Failure to thrive
- Developmental delay
- Hypotonicity (low/weak muscle tone)
- Hypertonicity (high/increased muscle tone)
- Various genetic syndromes
- Seizure disorders
- Feeding difficulties
- Torticollis (wry neck)
Your child’s first visit to Outpatient Pediatric Therapy will involve an assessment by our experienced therapists, who will determine the most beneficial schedule and therapies for your child. Meanwhile, you may start by completing the “Outpatient Pediatric Therapy” form.
All infants require a physician’s referral, and we accept most forms of insurance.
