After 31 years and the delivery of more than 7,000 babies at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, Dr. Rachel Thompson’s last patient to deliver, Emily Sheffield, was a patient Dr. Thompson delivered on May 12, 1992. Parents Emily Sheffield and Randall Adlong of Mont Belvieu, Texas, welcomed Reagan Tyler Adlong into the world on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:39 a.m. at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

For the first time in The Woman's Hospital of Texas history, the hospital delivered more than 11,000 babies in one year. Cinthia and Albert Lee and big brother Armani welcomed Alijah George into the world at 2:08 a.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Alijah weighs 7 pounds, 9 ounces and is 20 inches long. The Lee’s are from Houston and were thrilled to be the record-setting family.

HCA Gulf Coast Division President Maura Walsh announced today that Ashley McClellan has been named the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Woman's Hospital of Texas (TWHT). Previously, Ashley served as the CEO of Medical Center of Lewisville in HCA’s North Texas Division. She began her career with HCA in the Chief Operating Officer (COO) development program as the Associate Administrator at Overland Park Medical Center in HCA’s Midwest Division in Kansas. Ashley was promoted to COO at Medical Center of Lewisville, and served in that role until 2011 when she was promoted to CEO.
