HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division has announced that Doug Goodman has been appointed to the position of Regional Vice President of Human Resources.
In his new role, Goodman will work collaboratively with HCA Healthcare's corporate office, the division, and hospital leadership to create a workplace culture of excellence, evaluate talent needs and develop talent strategies, and be the champion for employee engagement activities.
"Doug is a leader who understands the importance of driving colleague engagement to build committed workforces," said Evan Ray, chief administrative officer of HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. "We know he will be key as we further advance our efforts to becoming an employer of choice."
Most recently, Goodman was the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division Market Vice President of Human Resources. During his tenure, he improved overall employee engagement to top quartile within HCA Healthcare. In addition, he championed division-wide Hope Fund initiatives to achieve over $1M in contributions to support our colleagues. As an independent public charity, the Hope Fund helps colleagues who have loses and needs.
Prior to this role, Goodman comes from HCA Healthcare West Florida Division's Brandon Hospital in Tampa, where he was the vice president of human resources. During his time there, he developed and executed numerous nurse retention and leadership development programs and increased colleague engagement.
Goodman received his Bachelor of Science from Millikin University, his Masters of Business from Nova Southeastern University, and is certified as a professional in human resources by the Society for Human Resources Management. He assumed his new role this month.
