The education department at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas offers a variety of classes, support groups, and tours to help families prepare for the physical, psychological, and emotional changes that come with pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood.
Our comprehensive educational program for expectant parents is designed to provide families with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their goals.
Maternity classes and support groups
Our classes are taught by certified and experienced educators in an open and secure environment. Classes fill quickly, so be sure to register early. If you need to cancel or make changes to your registration, please call (281) 438-4357. A 25 percent service charge for class cancellations applies. We provide free parking during classes, tours and support groups.
All of our childbirth classes are designed to prepare you for the physical and psychological changes associated with pregnancy and birth. We recommend completing all classes no later than the 30th week of pregnancy, or the 24th week of pregnancy if you're expecting multiples.
We are dedicated to providing breastfeeding education and support to help you and your new baby get off to the best start. Breastfeeding can be both rewarding and challenging. Learning the basics puts you and your baby on the path to success. As a Texas Ten Step designated hospital, we have policies and care practices in place for mother and baby related to breastfeeding.
We know babies do not come with guidebooks, so we provide some helpful classes and support groups for caregivers, including parents and grandparents. From baby care practices and development to infant CPR and home safety, we want to prepare and equip you and your family for the newest addition.
Our Perinatal Diabetes Center offers classes taught by a certified diabetes educator who is specifically designed to meet the needs of women with diabetes before, during and after pregnancy.
