We want you to feel as prepared as possible when it's time to go to the hospital to deliver your baby. Your hospital bag should be fully packed by week 37 of your pregnancy.

Your care team will ensure you are comfortable during your hospital stay, but we do encourage patients to pack some additional comforts of home in their hospital bag to help them feel more at ease.

Here are some suggestions on what to pack:

For mom:

  • Baby book or other items for baby's footprints
  • Birth ball and/or other labor aids
  • Camera
  • Favorite music for labor
  • Hairbrush and hair tie to pull back long hair
  • Lip moisturizer
  • Lotion or powder for massage
  • Maternity outfit for the trip home
  • Nursing bras
  • Nursing pads
  • Photo ID and health insurance card
  • Shoes or slippers
  • Sleepwear (hospital gowns are provided)
  • Slippers or comfortable shoes
  • Special pillows in non-white pillowcases, if you choose to bring your own
  • Toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant (sanitary pads are provided)

For support person:

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Comfortable clothes for a two to three-day stay
  • Pajamas or loose-fitting clothes for sleeping
  • Phone and charger
  • Photo ID
  • Shoes or slippers
  • Snacks
  • Sweater or jacket, in case mom wants the room cool
  • Toiletries

For baby:

  • Car seat installed in your vehicle
  • Outfit and blanket for the trip home
