When your child is in need of immediate medical care, the pediatric emergency room (ER) at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas provides a full spectrum emergency care services. Whether your child is experiencing a minor illness or needs life-saving intervention, we provide prompt and personalized care in a child-friendly environment.

Our pediatric ER is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including holidays. We are staffed by pediatric physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists who are experienced and trained in pediatric emergency medicine. Child life specialists are also available to provide support and education to both parents and children.

Our ER features six private treatment rooms that are spacious enough for parents to stay with their child during their stay — a proven comfort to kids, moms and dads. We also have an on-site, full-service lab and advanced imaging department to obtain emergency test results as quickly as possible.

Children coming to the emergency room are usually in distress, which is why we provide a dedicated waiting area just for our pediatric patients. This is a family-centered area where your child can receive the love and support of parents, siblings and other family members. Here, your child will find a calming environment featuring cheerful colors, play areas, books and televisions to help ease their fears.
