At The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, we want to provide you and your loved ones with the best healthcare experience possible. We remain diligent in our fight against COVID-19 and the health and safety of our patients, caregivers, and communities is our top priority.

While we understand the importance of in-hospital patients having family members and loved ones by their side, the following visitor policy is necessary in order to best protect patients and those providing care.

The current visitor policy is as follows:

  • One support person permitted 24/7 for all non-COVID antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, pediatric, ICU, surgical and post-surgical patients, and two visitors between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • One support person permitted 24/7 for all ED and OBED patients, and two visitors between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • One visitor allowed for COVID-positive or expected positive patients between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No overnight visitors.
  • Accompanied children may count as a visitor in all areas, except in the NICU
  • For NICU patients:
    • Parent(s) allowed 24/7, entirety of patient stay
    • Additionally, parent(s) may designate up to four additional support persons per stay (i.e. legal guardian, grandparent)
    • Maximum of two people, including parent(s) allowed at bedside at one time
  • All 24/7 support persons must be aged 18 years or older. Support persons are required to follow The Woman’s Hospital of Texas’ safety policies:
    • Upon arrival, complete screening, screening attestation and hand sanitization processes
    • Adults only; 18 years or older
    • Practice hand hygiene
    • Adhere to social distancing guidelines
    • Masks are required at all times in the following areas (mouth and nose covered):
      • Patient care hallways and rooms (second floor and above)
      • NICU
    • Masks are optional in the following areas:
      • First floor hallways and lobby
      • Cafeteria
      • Café
      • Nurse’s stations (break rooms, offices, meeting rooms, lounges, etc.)

Exceptions to the visitor policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If a patient or family member has an extenuating circumstance, we will work with them to help accommodate their needs.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support.

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.
