The Woman's Hospital of Texas is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Fleming, MD as chief medical officer (CMO), effective September 2. Dr. Fleming is a passionate advocate for women's healthcare, cancer prevention strategies and improving healthcare access in rural and underserved communities.

Dr. Fleming's leadership journey began at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she worked for 13 years as an accomplished clinician, surgeon and educator. During her time there, Dr. Fleming served in several administrative roles including Center Medical Director at MD Anderson Sugar Land, Inpatient Medical Director for Gynecology services at MD Anderson hospital, and Director of Surgery for the MD Anderson Cancer Network.

Most recently Dr. Fleming served as the Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, with a joint faculty appointment as Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Washington Medical Center.

She is both an accomplished author and presenter with many original peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, editorials and presentations throughout her career. Her goals as a physician leader are to expand timely and equitable access to high-quality and patient-centered care, and to enhance clinical care delivery models using innovative strategies to ensure a positive patient and provider experience.
