Houston, TX – The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce announced Jeanna Bamburg, CEO of The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, and Dr. Ja'Neice Harris-Houston, neonatologist and The Woman’s Hospital of Texas Board Chairperson, as the 2024 distinguished recipients of the 2024 Kathryn S. Stream Award. This award honors Dr. Kathryn S. Stream, a founding member of the Texas Medical Center Women’s Health Network, who also served as Senior Vice President of the Texas Medical Center. In her name, we recognize a Houston-area researcher, educator, practitioner, or community leader who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in advancing women’s health through collaborations in education, research, and advocacy.

Jeanna Bamburg’s remarkable leadership and unwavering dedication to her community have made her a shining example of excellence in women’s health.

Her commitment to serving others is evident through her many roles and achievements. As the previous chairperson of the March of Dimes March for Babies Houston, Jeanna propelled the event to national acclaim, showcasing her ability to make a significant impact. Beyond this, she lends her support to various organizations, including serving on the board of the Alley Theatre, and she co-chairs the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce health network. 

Jeanna has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named one of Houston’s Most Admired CEOs, a Woman Who Means Business, a Breakthrough Woman, and one of Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women.

Jeanna’s outstanding achievements and dedication to advancing women’s health truly embody the spirit of the Kathryn S. Stream Award. 

Dr. Ja'Neice Harris-Houston is a neonatologist who serves as the Medical Director of Operations for the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees at The Woman's Hospital of Texas. Her compassionate care for critically ill infants and unwavering support for families facing the challenges of having their babies in the NICU have made a profound impact on countless lives. 

Beyond her clinical excellence, Dr. Houston is deeply committed to her community. She founded the non-profit organization Kindness Released, which focuses on supporting senior citizens through education and efforts to combat social isolation. 

Dr. Houston’s dedication to both her patients and her community truly exemplifies the spirit of the Kathryn S. Stream Award.
