The Woman’s Hospital of Texas and Dr. Catherine Holste helped Tammi Bui and Tim Nguyen welcome their son, Jacob Nguyen, into the world at 12:40 a.m. on January 1, 2014. Baby Jacob weighs 5 lbs. and 5 oz. and is 18 and ¼ inches long. Jacob’s big sister, 2 year old Madison, was also born at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas and is eager to meet her little brother.

The Woman’s Hospital of Texas (TWHT) has partnered with the March of Dimes to promote research, awareness and prevention during November’s Prematurity Awareness Month. Pre- term birth is the leading cause of newborn death nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports. Pre-term birth can have serious and life-long health consequences including cerebral palsy, hearing, vision, and breathing problems.

In an attempt to raise Breast Cancer Awareness, The Woman’s Hospital of Texas (TWHT) is teaming up with Pearland Football League to Pom Pearland Pink on Saturday, October 19, 2013 on the field at Dawson High School, 2050 Cullen Blvd. Pearland, TX 77581.

Houston, Texas, September 6, 2013– The American Legion recognized The Woman’s Hospital of Texas as part of its National Convention on August 24, 2013. One of three Houston sites chosen for making Veterans a priority, The Woman’s Hospital is home to the Catholic Charities Lotus Project for Women Veterans. Legion representatives visited the Lotus Project Offices, toured The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, and visited with approximately 20 veterans and their children who have been personally helped at this location. Donations from the American Legion were presented to the Veterans at a reception following the tour.
