Support Groups

Sometimes you need to learn more about childbirth, parenting, managing multiples or infertility in person rather than online or in a doctor’s office. Our support groups are led by knowledgeable experts who can help you find the answers you need. Our support groups are free of charge, require no registration and parking is validated.

Birth, Baby and Beyond Support Group

Expectant and new parents are encouraged to come and share the concerns, joys and trials of parenting newborns and babies up to one year of age. Topics covered include sleeping, crying, feeding family relationship changes and many more. Babies are welcome. Held Thursdays, 10 – 11:30 a.m., 7550 Fannin, classroom D.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression Support Group

Depression during and after pregnancy is more common than many people think. Our counselor specializes in postpartum issues and leads this group for new parents. Held Mondays, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., 7550 Fannin, classroom 150, excluding holidays. Includes discussion of:

  • Baby blues, prenatal or postpartum depression and anxiety
  • Self-care while caring for a child
  • Relationship changes and challenges
  • Tips to handle daily stress with a new baby

New Moms Lactation Support Group

New mothers often find that breastfeeding is a skill that requires extra pointers. This weekly support group is for mothers with newborns ages birth to 6 weeks. Our certified lactation consultants offer tips on latching-on, nutrition and other common breastfeeding issues. You may also weigh your baby. Meets every Monday, 7550 Fannin, classroom 150 from 10 - 11:30 a.m., excluding holidays.

La Leche League International Meetings

The La Leche League provides education, information, support and encouragement to women who choose to breastfeed and hosts 2 monthly meetings at Woman’s. Babies are welcome. Meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 9:45 am– 11:00 a.m., and the first Saturday, 10 - 11:15 a.m., 7550 Fannin, classroom D. NICU Parent Group

Specifically designed to meet the needs of parents and family members of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) babies, this group provides significant emotional support and education. Meetings are held at 7600 Fannin, classroom A on the 1st Wednesday of each month, from 6:45 – 7:45 p.m. and all other Wednesdays from 1 – 2 p.m.

Space City Triplets

Whether you’re expecting 3 or more babies or have already delivered, this group helps you meet others who experiencing the challenges and joys of parenthood times 3 or more.
