Volunteers

Our volunteers at The Woman's Hospital of Texas are an integral part of our healthcare team and give us their most valuable asset, their time. While small in numbers, they contributed 3,536 hours in service last year.

Woman's Hospital of Texas Volunteers

Volunteer opportunities at The Woman's Hospital of Texas include staffing the information desk and surgery waiting rooms as well as assisting in some administrative areas. We also have an APU Buddy Program and are just starting a collaborative effort with the March of Dimes-the Antepartum Family Support Program. We also have a Cuddle Care Program available in our NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). The volunteer works with the Child Life Specialists in nurturing contact to infants through hold and touch. Our positions are weekdays only during the hours of 8am-5pm. We ask for a six month commitment.

We have a Junior Volunteer Program for two months during the summer; it begins in June and ends in August. To be eligible for this program, a student must be between the ages of 14 and 18 and must be in good standing at their high school. The number of Juniors we can accommodate is limited and applications are available in mid-March and due back in mid-April.
